North Carolina State University
Art, Gifts and Original Paintings

It has been my privilege over the years to capture many North Carolina campuses through art. What makes these art creations so special is alumni’s devotion and allegiance to each alma matta. One can only be entertained at the rivalries that take place among fans of Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina State. My first visit to campus was freshman year when I was dating a young lady from NC State. I was astonished at how large this amazing campus was. In just a moment the tolling of the bells from The Bell Tower was a magnet that lured me ever closer.
The Memorial Bell Tower that is in my original painting has to be the university’s most notable symbol. Constructed in 1937 it’s a blend of Romanesque and Gothic features reminiscent of the towers at West Point. It was dedicated to the 33 alumni that lost their lives in World War I. For generations this timeless icon has held steadfast to the virtues of honoring all those that are a friend of this most prestigious university.
The North Carolina General Assembly founded NC State on March 7th 1887 as a land-grant college. Today, NC State has an enrollment of over 30,000, making it the largest university in North Carolina.
