Featured Golf Course — Quail Hollow

Wachovia Championship’s leader-board is crowded with golf’s biggest names, but the top star here is modestly ranked and plays with an old-fashioned style. That star is the golf course, Quail Hollow, is a gorgeous, 7,442-yard track lined with pines and oaks and 18 holes full of challenges without tricks.
After playing courses of exaggerated lengths or bulldozed contours, players from around the world have converged on the soft, rolling hills of Quail Hollow where there are only three water hazards but 62 bunkers.
Quail Hollow, a private member club, is one of the finest courses in the Southeast United States and has played host to a number of venues over the years. Modifications and a redesign by Tom Fazio make it the perfect spot to host the Wachovia Championship. In 2007 the Club commissioned William Mangum to create a series of impressive paintings to celebrate the Tournament’s wonderful venue.
